Grandma's Waffles

It appears that there are two groups of waffle eaters; those who top with peanut butter and syrup and those who don’t. If you’ve never tried peanut butter on your waffles, you’re missing out. Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 ½ cups milk
  • peanut butter - Jif
  • syrup - Miss Butterworth

Instructions

  • Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar on wax paper.
  • Separate eggs and put egg yolks in large bowl. In smaller bowl, beat egg whites until firm.
  • Beat egg yolks. Add milk, vanilla and vegetable oil.
  • Add in flour mixture and STIR BY HAND just enough to moisten dry ingredients.
  • Fold in egg whites.
  • Spray waffle iron with non-stick cooking spray, add batter and bake.
  • Top with peanut butter and syrup.

Notes
